Sambaguru at Cal Arts / Valencia
It was such a treat to play with my buddies again! I hadn't played with Sambaguru in a couple of months as I've been travelling quite a bit in the last two months. Katia Moraes, Bill Brendle, Tony Shogren and I have been performing as a band since 1993. We've added Kevin Ricard and Grecco Burrato since 1999. I have really missed playing with them and we all had a blast on Monday and Tuesday at Cal Arts. We played for their summmer school students. We had all the students dancing after the second tune and they never went back to their seats
Sambaguru is a band that plays music from all parts Brazil from Baiao, Samba, Partido-alto, Samba-Reggae to Afoxe and more! We use a lot of traditional brazilian instruments and also include the accordian. If you get an opportunity to see the band, don't miss it! You will be entertained.
