On my way to Zurich
It is 7.00 AM on the 28th of June and I am sitting on an airplane on my way to Zurich. The show with the Al McKay all stars in Haifa, Israel went off really well. We played at the sea port in Haifa. It was a beautiful setting, right by the ocean with the mountains behind us. Johnny Friday played his ass off! He made the band feel very comfortable and drove the band really hard!
Today is an off day and the band is spending their off day in Haifa, but I decided to go and visit Dylan and Vanessa in Switzerland for the day. I am exhausted, as I have not slept in 24 Hrs! We finished our gig around 1.00AM and I rushed backed to the hotel and left for the airport in Tel Aviv at 2.30AM. In all my years off traveling I have not seen or gone through a security check, like I did this morning in Tel Aviv. First airport security questioned me for about 1/2 hour, then on to baggage screening and having them go through all of my luggage! After that ordeal I got to the ticket counter to get my boarding pass (that was the easy part!), after I got my boarding pass I had to go to passport control where I was stopped and asked many more questions like, what was my grand fathers name and if I had been to Kenya and Russia and why I visited Dubai and Tunisia! I had answers to all of their questions because I was not trying to hide any information. The Israeli airport security is so well trained and so sharp. I was very impressed with their professionalism and I tried to make the best of it. I would love to come back and visit Israel with Marita sometime soon. It is an amazing place and the people are very warm and friendly.
